Alan Smith has founded or led 6 companies to successful outcomes for his investors. In 2015, he co-founded Rockcliff Energy with $700 million in private equity commitments, led by Quantum Energy Partners, with the company’s focus being on building an upstream and a minerals company as well as a JV with a midstream company.

Previously, Alan was a partner at Quantum Energy Partners, a multibillion dollar PE firm, where his successes included the turnaround of Quantum Resources and taking QR Energy public back in 2010.  QR Energy was merged into Brietburn Energy in 2014 at a $3 billion valuation.

In 2017, Alan was inducted into the All-American Wildcatter’s, a private organization that honors those who have achieved success “wildcatting” in the oil and gas business.
